Students in fourth grade are grouped by ability in math and language arts to better meet their needs.

Math

In Math, students learn multiplication, division, and decimals as well as continuing with skills learned in third grade.

Language Arts

Students will continue with grammar skills and writing.  They will be reading from an anthology, from novels and from science, social studies and health texts in conjunction with our units of study.  Comprehension and written responses to guided questions will be our focus in reading this school year.

Science

Our Science curriculum consists of "Space", "The Changing Earth", "Electricity and Magnetism", and "The Environment".

Social Studies

In Social Studies, students learn about "Explorers" and "Maryland, Past and Present".

Homework Guidelines

Homework is given Monday - Thursday in math, spelling, and reading. Other homework assignments may be given at the teachers' discretion.
