Mrs. Winner ~ General Music ~ Station Singers ~ 4th and 5th Grade Chorus ~ Drama Club Birthday: January 23 Favorite Color: blue Favorite Musical: Into the Woods Favorite Composer: Claude Debussy Favorite Book: The Tale of Despereaux by Kate DiCamillo Education: B.M. in Music Education with a principle in voice performance from Westminster Choir College. Masters of Music Education from Towson University. Cool facts: In her first year of teaching, Mrs. Winner was nominated for First Year Teacher of the Year Award. On April 8, 2006, Mrs. Winner married Mr. Matthew Winner, a 4th grade classroom teacher at Waverly Elementary. He is now the media specialist at Longfellow Elementary School!

The HSES music program promotes musical literacy through music performance, ear training, improvisation, reading, and composition.  Music literacy encourages creative thinking through self-expression and imagination. Music is an integral part of society and it enhances the quality of students’ lives.  The music staff at HSES works hard to help students to explore and develop their innate musical potential.
