Celebrations!5th Grade won the Composer of the Month contest with 68% of 5th graders turning in their homework!!
The following classes won the Tuffy Recorder Chart and the Ziplock Chart!! The Tuffy Recorder Chart represents the class(es) whose members most consistently brought their recorder, folder and music to every music class during the most recent quarter. The Ziplock Chart represents the class(es) whose members had the BEST behavior and participation in music class during the most recent quarter.

Ziplock Chart: Primary Classes: IT WAS TIE!!! Miss Gibson's class and Ms. Regotti.
Intermediate Classes: IT WAS TIE!!! Mr. Hector and Mrs. McWain's Class

What are we learning?
Kindergarten: We will focus on rhythm.
1st Grade: We will focus on patriotic music.
2nd Grade: We will focus on instrument families.
3rd Grade: We will focus on 1st & 2nd Endings AND composing.
4th Grade: We will focus on eighth & sixteenth note combinations.
5th Grade: Some will focus on composing using Garage Band.
If time permits, we will play drums!!
Chorus
the HES chorus is a voluntary ensemble. however, all students who elect to join chorus sign a contract that they agree to participate for the entire school year. we now have 102 members!!

Holiday concert: December 16th
Spring concert: May 7th
Simulated Congressional Hearing: May 29th

Recorder Ensemble:
Students in the 3rd, 4th & 5th grade who demonstrate a high proficiency on their recorders may be interested in participating in the HES Recorder Ensemble. For more information, please contact me.
