Vocabulary sentences 1-5 (10 sentences per definition) due Thursday,

Vocabulary: Lesson #2:  Words From Animals  (badger, beastly, horseplay,
hounds, lionize, mammoth, parrot, pigheaded, scapegoat, sheepish)

Write 13 descriptive sentences for 10 words.  Remember to use your Notes #4 for the
types of sentences.
Due Thurs. 9/18

Challenge Reading:  Vocabulary Lesson #2:  Vocabulary from Classical Roots
Numbers from the Greek/Roman roots
Write words 1-11 in sentences-write one sentence for each definition for a total of
14 sentences
due 9/18

Read for at least 15 minutes each night and complete reading calendar for
Friday, 9/19.

Study for vocabulary quiz on Lessons 1 and 2:  "Words From Animals" and
"Numbers" for
Friday,9/19.
--Use flashcards and/or gold vocab worksheets to study words and
definitions.
--Remember the quiz is multiple choice!

Study for your quiz on both Wednesday and Thursday!

WEEK OF 9/22-26:

CHALLENGE:      Lesson 3:  "All or Nothing" write 15 sentences for 11 words.

WEEK OF 9/29-10/3:  HAPPY OCTOBER!

CHALLENGE:  Lesson 4:  "All or Nothing" theme continued with 11 words.  PLEASE REMEMBER
TO WRITE THE 5 DIFFERENT TYPES OF SENTENCES.  USE THE "CONTEXT TO REVEAL MEANING"
IN YOUR NOTES SECTION. (14 sentences)

DEVELOPMENTAL:  Lesson 4:  "Honesty, Openness and Fairness" with 10 new words.  (15 sentences)

STUDY FOR THE VOCABULARY QUIZ ON Friday!

*This week AND next week, the sentences will be due on Friday due to the holidays.

WEEK OF 10/6-10:

CHALLENGE:  LESSON 5:  "More of Less" write 15 sentences for 11 words (REMEMBER 5 TYPES-Definition,
Example, Restatement, Appositive and Inference).  Due Friday, 10/10

DEVELOPMENTAL:  Lesson 5:  "Amounts, Large and Small" write 14 sentences for 10 words.  Due 10/10

Reading Calendars should have a MINIMUM  of 4 nights with 15 mi nutes or more each night.  Remember to
have each night signed and record minutes and pages.  Due MONDAY. 10/20!  Remember the reading
calendar is double sided.

Novel questions for both classes will also be due on Friday, 10/10.
