All 10th grade English Honors students in Mrs. Askin's classes are studying the literary theme of Search for Self during the third quarter. The class is reading The Catcher in the Rye and another novel which parents have approved and which will be the focus of a research paper due at the end of the quarter.
All 12th grade English Honors students in Mrs. Askin's 4A period are reading Hamlet in class. The students have taken several in-class essay tests to sharpen their writing skills in preparation for college exams. That process will continue through third and fourth quarters. In addition, grammar skills will again be targeted to prepare students for their college placement tests, usually given during orientation in math and English.
