I began teaching elementary school music in Howard County in 1995, and spent ten years at Talbott Springs Elementary School.  I am very excited to be returning to Elkridge Elementary School for the 2008-2009 school year! I grew up in Howard County and attended schools here for my entire K-12 education.

I graduated from James Madison University with a degree in Music Education with a focus in the General and Vocal Music area.  While at JMU, I performed in many vocal ensembles and productions, ranging from small chamber music groups to full-scale operas.  I also was a member of the JMU Marching Band - the Marching Royal Dukes, playing the french horn!  I was a voice major in college and have performed in various venues in the Baltimore area since graduation.

Outside of school, I direct musicals for elementary and middle school students at the Drama Learning Center.  I have directed and co-directed many shows, including,"Annie", "The Sound of Music", "Joseph & the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat", "The King & I", "Cinderella", "Grease", "Seussical", "Li'l Abner", "High School Musical", and many more.

I live in Howard County with my daughter and enjoy visiting my family.  We like to play games, especially dominoes, Wii games, and Monopoly! I also love to read (Harry Potter rocks!) and listen to music.  I love teaching and look forward to coming into work every day to work with children.
