Welcome to Mrs. Rager's Class

I began my teaching career here in Howard County in 1998. I have been lucky enough to have taught at Elkridge for all ten years! I have taught 2nd, 3rd, and 5th grade. I feel blessed to have such a wonderful environment to work in. I truly consider the staff and families of Elkridge to be my extended family! This year our class is lucky to have Mr. Cuming, our intern from UMCP, in our class as well. We look forward to sharing this great experience with you!

At home I am the mother of two. Emily is 5 years old (starting Kindergarten!!!) while Tyler is 4 years old. I also have an Australian Shepard (Tahoe) and two kittens (Dallas and Tinkerbell). My family spends a lot of time visiting my relatives in New Jersey and my husband's family in Pennsylvania. I enjoy spending time with family and friends, going to the beach, saving memories by creating scrapbooks, and reading books with my bookclub.

*Read for 20 minutes or more and record on your Book-It calendar.  This calendar will be collected and taken as a grade for Reading. Calendars are to be handed in by the second school day of the following month. Howard County curriculum requires students to read 25 books during the calendar year.  Our method of tracking to fulfill this objective is through the use of Book-It. Students may choose to read more than 20 minutes per night to fulfill the 400 minutes requirement.  Also, if your child loses their calendar, it is their responsibility to let the me know that they are in need of a new one.   Parent notes will no longer be considered for full credit, since we have to hold the students accountable for reading appropriate texts and having read each night.
