Course Overview

     This year in history we will be learning about historiography and  Amercian/United States History from 1492 to 1877.

     The Class is structured as follows:

     Unit One (first quarter):Road to Independence
       13 Colonies
       French and Indian War
       British Economic and Political Policies
       Declaration of Independence

     Unit Two (second quarter):  Forging a New Nation
       Revolutionary War
       Articles of Confederation
       Constitution, Bill of Rights
       Washington
               
     Unit Three (third quarter):  Growth of a Nation
       Hamilton, Adams, Jefferson
       Jefferson's Presidency
       War of 1812
       Monroe Doctrine
       Industrial/Technological Revolution
       Westward Expansion

     Unit Four (fourth quarter):  A Union in Disunion
       Sectionalism
       Events Leading to the Civil War
       Civil War
       Emancipation
       Reconstruction



Grading Policy

     All quarterly grades will be determined by averaging classwork, homework, quizzes, tests and projects In weighted catagories.  Grades can be accessed by checking them on line at Teacherease.
