If you will graduate from High School in 2009 or after 2009 you are required to earn a satisfactory score on the Algebra 1/Data Analysis HSA in order to earn a Maryland High School Diploma.
Materials:
One 1.5 inch three ring loose leaf binder with 3 dividers (to be brought to class each day)
Bring your covered textbook to class each day
Bring two or more pencils to class each day (using a pen will result in the lost of points)
If possible a TI-83 or TI-83 plus Calculator
Grading:
There will be 2 – 3 Tests each quarter
Homework (given every night in accordance with the Howard County Homework Guidelines Policy)
There will be 3 – 5 Quizzes
Log Book
There will be one project
Grades:
Assessments/Projects 60%

Letter Grades will be awarded quarterly in accordance with the Wilde Lake Grading Policy. Students are expected to keep a current Grade Sheet in order to know the course grade at any given time in the quarter.
Policies:
Be on time and ready to work, that means in your seat when the bell rings.
Tardiness and class cuts will be handled according to WLHS policy.
Be polite and use appropriate language. We will speak with respect to each other.
Within the first seven minutes, you should have completed the drill.
Homework assignments will not be made up (unless you have a valid excuse).
Missed classwork assignments and homework must be turned in within one day of return to class.
Student Participation (note-taking, oral discussion, and group work) is a must.
Coach class will be held Tuesday and Thursday after school from 2:10pm –3:30pm.
Missed homework assignments will result in a detention
Homework grading policy
10: perfect paper; 9: 85 – 99% accurate; 8: 75 – 84% accurate; 7: 65 – 74% accurate; 6: 64% or below (you attempted all problems); 0: did not do.
Failure to comply with these policies will result in a detention
Attendance:
The attendance policy will be in accordance with the Howard County Attendance Policy.
The Denial of Credit Policy of 9 unexcused absences will be strictly enforced.
