Marriotts Ridge High School ensembles are recognized as Superior performing organizations. Following are some of the awards and honors that MRHS ensembles have received during 2008-2009.
In April, 2009 the MRHS Music Department participated in FiestaVal at Pigeon Forge,Tennessee. Following is the list of awards MRHS groups were honored with:

March, 2008 - Symphonic Wind Ensemble earns a Superior rating at the Howard County Band Festival. The group received very high praise from the panel of adjudicators. Comments from the adjudicators included: "this group has a professional recording quality sound," "Bravo", "Exceptional", "From beginning to end musicians were focused and poised which gives a most positive impression on the listener/observer."
December, 2008 - Marriotts Ridge Music Department has an unprecedented 38 students selected for All-State groups and 4 for All-Eastern ensembles.
November 9, 2008 - Marching Unit places well and wins the Best Percussion award by achieving the highest percussion score in Group III competition at the USSBA 20th Anniversary Celebration at M&T Bank stadium in Baltimore.
