#1:  Susan wants to know if her plants will grow better if given sugar water instead of tap water.  She decides to water 15 plants every other day with sugar water, and 15 plants every other day with tap water.  They will sit in the same area of her yard and so receive the same amount of sunlight each day.  

Write a hypothesis for Susan’s experiment.

10/6:  Turn to page 22 in your spiral.  Title it Warm Ups C.  Look at your animal cell drawing and your plant cell drawing.  (pp. 25 and 27).  Do you notice any differences between them?

10/5:  Your table of contents should be updated to page 27 today!

10/1:  #3:  Make 3 lists.  Each list should contain what you know about:

9/29:  #2:  The eyepiece of a microscope magnifies the image 10 times.  What is the total magnification on low power (magnification 10 times) and high power (magnification 43 times)?  Answer in a complete sentence and show your work!

9/23:  Turn to page 16 in your spiral and title it Warm Ups B.  #1:  What is the smallest thing that you have ever seen?  What is the largest thing that you have ever seen?

9/16:  #3:  Look at the bag of yeast.  Do you think the yeast is ALIVE?  Why or why not?  (Think about the characteristics of living things)

9/14: #2: Give one example of a way that living things sense and respond to changes in their environment.

9/10:  Open your spiral to page 8 and title it Warm Ups A.  Answer the question but do not copy it.

        #1:  Make a list of as many things that you can think of that are living.   Be specific!
