The Big Six Research Model
big6.gif
Define the problem and decide what kind of information you need to solve it.
Brainstorm all possible sources of information and decide which ones might be most and least useful to you.
Locate the most useful sources and find the information you need within them.
Engage the information (read, listen to, or watch) and make notes, keeping track of sources.
Organize the information into a product. (Write a paper; make a poster; give a speech, etc.)
Judge the product and the process you used to solve the problem.
