Class Expectations
1. Come to class prepared and on time. Students must have a pencil
and a notebook.
2. Begin work promptly and stay on task. Students have nine weeks to
complete several very involved art problems. Students who fall behind
in class due to failure to stay on task will not be provided with extra
time. Students who are behind on class work due to absence or who
are
going above and beyond will be given extensions.
3. Respect others and their work. Students who are disrepectful towards
others or their work will be removed from class until their behavior is
more appropriate.
4. Respect the tools and materials. Students who fail to follow
instructions or who are wasteful will not be allowed to continue with
their work until the teacher has discussed the students behavior with
the student and their parent/guardian.
5. Work safely. Students, who through their actions, in anyway endanger
themselves or their classmates will be removed from class until such
time as their behavior meets expectations or the teacher has spoken
with their parents/guardians. Unsafe behavior will result in immediate
removal with no warnings.
6. Pay attention. Students who fail to exhibit appropriate classroom
behavior during demonstrations or discussions will be removed from
class after three warnings. Students will be readmitted at such time
their behavior indicates an understanding of this expectation.
7. Clean up promplty and efficiently. All students are expected to help
maintain the art studio by cleaning up after themselves and helping
with the distribubtion and collection of artwork and materials. Failure
to assist their classmates will result in discontinuation of work and/
or extra cleanup duties until such time as the student demonstrates an
understanding of this expectation.
FAQ
ces on an individual basis. If a student
has been working dilegently in class, and the work requires more time
(they really are going above and beyond), I will grant an extension.
If a student has been absent they too will receive the extra time
needed. If a student simply fails to hand in the work on time and as
directed, the grade will be lowered one letter grade each class period
it is late.

What if I am not good at art?
That's ok. I have worked with students of all abilities for many years with great success. your grade will never be unfairly determined by your art ability. Meeting objectives for each art problem, having a positive attitude, and being willing to put forth your best effort will lead to success!

What if I am absent?
You are responsible for the drills you missed for that day. Have a buddy
in class that can help with this. Check with me if there is anything you
need to make up. Students who miss time can make up work during Base/lunch
or after school on days that we agree upon.

What if my work is late?
I will determine the consequences on an individual basis. If a student
has been working dilegently in class, and the work requires more time
(they really are going above and beyond), I will grant an extension.
If a student has been absent they too will receive the extra time
needed. If a student simply fails to hand in the work on time and as
directed, the grade will be lowered one letter grade each class period
it is late.
