TestNav

Update as of 2009 new installations for High Schools (BCMS, TechEd, CompSci).

        TestNav Student (The TestNav installer is built in and will take about a minute to install before launch the application)
                Username - testnav
                Password - testnav
        TestNav Instructor
                Username - tninstructor
                Password - tninstructor


In the remaining labs (General Purpose)
There are 3 types of logins;

                                        
        TestNav Instructor
                Username - tninstructor
                Password - tninstructor
        TestNav Student
                Username - test01 - test400
                Password - test
        TestNav Installer
                Username - tninstaller
                Password - tninstaller


The TestNav Instructor tninstructor account can be used anywhere in the computer lab.
Internet explorer settings have been modified to redirect all traffic to the domain controller for that lab.

The homepage has been changed to;


The TestNav Student test01-400 accounts will automatically launch TestNav at login.
When the user closes the TestNav window the computer will automatically logoff the account.
The TestNav Student account have full access to the "C:\Program Files\TestNav" folder and
"C:\Program Files\TestNav\Temp" folder.
        "C:\Program Files\TestNav" is for testnav updates
        "C:\Program Files\TestNav\Temp" is for question response and audio cache


The TestNav Installer tninstaller account enables anyone to install TestNav's software on any
machine in that domain. If a student computer is not working correctly try tninstaller and that should
fix most small problems.
        The tninstaller account will install TestNav software with that domains specific settings
        then install flash 9 and set the correct permissions on the machines hard drive. The Last
        thing it does is restart the computer; which is your indication the process completed successfully.


Common problems:

Problem - TestNav Instructor does not have access to the the internet.
        Cause - The proctor caching proxy server service is not on.
                Action - Contact Nick V or Mike B.

Problem - User logs computer into TestNav Student account and the computer logs off immediately.
        Cause - TestNav is not installed on the machine.
                Action - Ask the user to login as tninstaller and wait for the computer to reboot itself then try again.

Problem - Student logs into a test and is prompted to update; the update fails.
        Cause - The computer has the old installation of TestNav
                Action - Ask the user to login as tninstaller and wait for the computer to reboot itself then try again.
