Welcome to Mrs. Zimmer's and Ms. Newman's Class
Hi, I'm Mrs. Zimmer and I welcome you to third grade! I started my career in the Howard County Public School system as a student at Elkridge Elementary when I was 5. Because I got such a great education here in Howard County, I felt it was my duty to try to give back to the community from which I came. I began teaching at Elkridge in 2000. I have enjoyed teaching both 4th and 3rd grade. I enjoy meeting and really getting to know a new group of unique students each year.
When I'm not working, I enjoy reading books about smart people, exercising, and working on my home built in 1912. I love the character of old homes and the stories they tell. I also enjoy traveling to new places so I can learn and experience new things. I'm famous for my daily nap, which helps me to stay up late. My heroes are Einstein and Dr. Seuss!
Hello! I am Ms. Newman and I am so excited to be working with third grade. I am currently persuing a master's degree at the University of Maryland and will be working in Mrs. Zimmer's classroom all year. As an Elkridge Elementary School Alum, I know that this is a great place to be.
When I am not in school I love to be outside, sports, reading, and traveling. I love all sports, especially swimming. This summer I had the opportunity to travel for three weeks in Europe. My hope is to be able to travel to new places often throughout my life.
