Welcome to Mrs. Aubin's 8th Grade Reading Class!
Our motto is READ=SUCCEED!!!
This year in 8th grade reading, our focus is to foster an appreciation for reading as a life-long pursuit. My goal is to motivate students to develop a love of reading for different purposes!
We will focus on skills and strategies, developing vocabulary and improving written expression.
Please feel free to contact me anytime there is question or a concern about your son/daughter.
I welcome communication and value its importance in such an invaluable partnershp-TEACHER, STUDENT, and PARENT!

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR PARENTS
It is my philosophy that students develop their reading skills by reading on a consistent basis. Therefore, my students are required to read for 30-40 minutes on a daily basis. They are encouraged to read any material of their choice. Students may also use their reading in other content areas as material for their reading records!
Each week students will receive a chart in which they will fill out information on their daily reading. (summary and reaction) I am asking that parents do sign the chart each week when the reading record has been completed. The charts are due each Monday.
Please support me in this effort to encourage our 8th graders to read for pleasure! Together we can attain this goal.
